A hollow cast iron crankshaft of an internal combustion engine includes at least one main bearing journal and at least two connecting rod bearing journals.In order to reduce the mass of the crankshaft and the centrifugal force generated during the movement, the crankshaft journal is often hollow.An oil hole is opened on the surface of each journal to allow oil to be introduced or drawn out for lubrication of the journal surface.In order to reduce stress concentration, the joint of spindle neck, crank pin and crank arm is connected by transitional arcs.
